Still Very Torn on this Product!? Great Design! Very Poorly Constructed!
I received my JayFlex dumbbell converter and I’m torn on the product. It seems that you are paying for a great design and definitely not for the quality of this product. This device is a wonderful step forward in home gym workouts due to space restraints, but the quality of the product in my opinion is very cheaply made. Does it work? Yes it does work as it should. Will it last? I seriously doubt it. If a 200 pound man stepped on the coupling, it would surely break. As for the thin plastic rings that hold the dumbbells in place, very very very cheaply made. Step on these and they will shatter into pieces. If these were made from a metal or carbon fiber material with brass O-rings to hold the weights, it would be worth the $130 dollar mark but with both ends along with the couplings being made from cheap plastic, these should be sold around the $40 dollar mark and you might get your monies worth. Will I return it? More than likely due to their price point and the lack of quality materials in the product. I’ve also read bad reviews on customer service. Add all this together and you get a great design, a low quality product, with an extremely high price point that no one will support. If JayFlex ever decides to take this great design and make it from the quality materials it deserves to be made from, then you would get an awesome device worth your hard earned money.

Pretty good!
Can confirm yes it does fit BCG adjustable dumbbells from academy sports. It is a tight squeeze and a bit of a pain installing it by yourself. Would be way easier with 2 people but still can be done, just know it is annoying. But after you get past that it’s great. Haven’t lifted anything heavy with it yet, only 45 pounds but so far so good

A game changer!
I absolutely love this product. I take it with me to the gym 2 to 3 times a week. And it allows me to work myself out quickly or without having to wait for others to get done using the kettlebells. The weight is very minimal that it doesn’t affect my workout. The crib works well, very well especially for different positions. Seems that it holds the weights snug and tight there is however just a little bit of slip, but you do expect that. The overall quality of the product seems that it only time will tell. But at that price if I have to replace it, it’s not a big deal.

Great concept – broke in one week
Attachment that holds bar in the DB adapters is tiny plastic and broke in one week, just had to gorilla glue it in to fix, but that could have been dangerous. Since fixed, very stable to hold good weight, foam grip is helpful.

Reasonable substitute
Works in a pinch if you don’t have any kettlebells but plenty of dumbbells. The way it clamps together is a bit annoying that the ring just falls out. A bit more expensive than I’d prefer but is still a valid substitute to owning a ton of kettlebells.

Good option for kettlebell swings
The design is really good, dumbbells can be setup in horizontal or linear path for swings. The only concern would be the handle, it’s very lite plastic material, doesn’t feel robust enough.

It’s ok – pretty decent but only for free dumbells
Seems to do a pretty decent job so far but have only used it for 10s and 20’s. I don’t know how I feel about putting something with much more weight in there as the clamping piece is all plastic. I wish they just used metal throughout even if they charged a bit more. Just seems with plastic, that type of stuff always ends up getting brittle over time, warps and breaks. The thin little red collar part seems especially lightweight and not sure how it will hold up over time lifting and putting the bar back down. They should have at least made that piece metal. And if the red piece breaks, then what? At the mercy of the company selling you a replacement part at elevated cost + s&h – if they even do at all. When swapping between weights, it’s not really a quick and easy process either. I was reallllly hoping that it would work with my set of power blocks so then I could just quickly swap weights on the power blocks instead of unscrewing the clamp everytime, but the clamp part is just too bulky and can’t fit in there; I would need to dismantle the power block handle which itself would be a pita to do every time. For what it is, it seems OK but could def be improved quite a bit. Hope it doesn’t give me problems which it looks like it has the possibility to down the road.

Good product, customer service was very lacking
Bought the product and did the registration, for only customer support to tell me that the free exercise program that came with it was only if the barbell was purchased. On top of that I ordered both the ez bar, the straight bar, and the cables. So far the equipment has held up (the max put on each side is 60lbs). But customer service has left me a little disappointed.

Cannot Use Neoprene Weights!
I wish I had known that you cannot use Neoprene weights with this product. I purchased them to use and they do not fit. I do not recall seeing that warning in the description. Had to purchase another set of of weights with the silver handle and it works well and it proved to be a good addition to my exercise program.

Not sturdy enough
I bought this to use with my hand weights and kettle balls it’s a alright product. The grips they have are a hard plastic not steel. Not sure how long it will hold up with heavy weight. It works with hand weights but not with the kettle balls I have, works with the ones they advertise. If you are a heavy lifter it’s your call. Great for someone who does quick light workouts or has a small area for their equipment.

An interesting idea, but beware of your own limitations.
I bought this for home workouts as they gym in my building only has dumbbells. Its actually fantastic as a barbell, which means I can start doing a greater variety of workouts safely with the limited equipment I had. One thing to note, be aware of your own limitations, because I thought I would be able to start doing bench press of the flat and incline variety until I realized I wasn’t strong enough to safely hoist the bar to my chest with 200lbs of dumbbells, nor safely lower it. I will be working on my snatches to be able to accomplish this, but worth bearing in mind.Knocked off a star because its a great idea, but i’m really not comfortable with the plastic locking screws and clamp in general. I know its to save on weight and money and I shouldn’t be doing things like swinging the bar around, but for workout equipment, I don’t want to have to worry about accidentally dropping this and ruining it.

Works as it’s Supposed to
This does exactly as advertised: turns almost any dumbbell into a kettlebell. It seems a bit loose when attached, but it’s never actually caused any issues. My one design complaint would be how tall the handle is. It comes up several inches higher than a normal kettlebell, so you don’t get quite as full range of motion for exercises where you’re picking it up from the floor. Other than that it works great.

This bar is a great addition to my workout routine, I have a set of adjustable dumbbells but with this it allows me so many more things I can do. the bar is solid and made well and you can easily attach your dumbbells for your workout. it’s a game changer, no need to buy a big bar and several plates. absolutely recommend

Great piece of kit. Wish it was slightly longer and covered in rubber.
I love the fact that this can hold hex dumbbells which have those convex handles. Very versatile. Packs away really easily. Standing the weights upright will give you (well, 5’7” me) a good distance from the ground for deadlifts. Can be difficult to determine where to put the center of gravity as the weights rotate like with bicep curls. Best to do them with just the dumbbells. There is a spot in the middle of it that doesn’t have the rubber coating and that sits right across your upper back for squats. The length is ok for me but my 6’ friend said he would have difficulty doing some exercises like bench press.Would like to see a more sturdy attachment than plastic as I think the threaded clamp will be the first to go and then the thing is useless. All in all a great product. Chose this over the other, cheaper clones as the quality looked better.

HONEST FITNESS REVIEW
I was looking for a way to “create” a heavy KB in my gym or any gym I went into. This handle can swivel in positioning whether you want to have a DB inside be perpendicular or against the handle orientation. Immediately upon receiving the handle I brought it to the gym next day and attached a 100lb to it for KB swings. Though the motion does feel slightly different and a little shaky compared to a solid KB, the handle absolutely did the job I was looking for and will continue to use going forward. I would assume the thicker the DB handle the tighter the hold and the more stable it will feel in hand.

Great Idea and Really Works Well!
Instead of having a multitude of kettlebells, it’s so easy to use the Jayflex. Just be aware that they do not work with foam covered dumbbells, only standard metal ones with rubber ends. Check the specifications on the description to be sure. A great addition to our home gym.

Easy to use. Takes seconds to add it to your dumbbell of choice, making it very versatile.
This product was exactly what I was looking for. It was easy to use – no instructions really are needed for it. Twist open the collar, put it on the dumbbell and reattach the handle. Very simple and most importantly, very sturdy. The handle is well contoured and wide, so you can use it with both hands for those exercises that call for that. This handle will serve me for quite some time.

Great find for home gym
I am so glad I found this product. I was originally looking at kettlebells for my home gym but they take up so much space, then I saw an alternative adapter to convert my dumbbells into kettlebells but it seemed to be awkward for some of the exercises I do with them. Finally I saw the jayflex hyperbell kettlebell grip and I knew I found the perfect product. I love that it holds all my cap hex rubber coated dumbbells and I have a variety of weights without clobbering my space with kettlebells on top of my dumbbells and everything else. I ended up also getting this set that has the hyperbell bar with a second kettlebell grip so I can do even more exercises. And I’m also eyeing some of the other products that jayflex produces.

Been using the Easy curl for a year now. It’s been working well so far. Fits well over the blowflex 552 dumbbells but not the 1090 dumbbells. It does not clamp down all the way. So I would only use them on the 552’s.

Some dumbbells don’t fit.
So this product is a great idea at a very premium price. To start as I took out of the box was happy the product felt good and sturdy. My first use I selected 2 15 lb dumbbell that were ergonomic handles and with the product weight of 5 lb I was gonna do my first test at 35 lb. So the ergonomic handles were too small and slid up and down for the duration of use during that workout. Not overly upset but didn’t expect rubber hex dumbbell with ergo handles to be too small to fit correctly. The next time I tried to use my new hyperbell I didn’t want the dumbbell sliding so select 2 17.5 lb dumbbells that were a different brand. Now I find out that it won’t close around the dumbbell the handle is too large and the clamp too small.I have a large set of dumbbells and they are not all the same brand some are rubber some are iron. It seems like all the iron hex dumbbells will work fine but rubber hex will give you issues. I wish there was a warning the rubber hex dumbbells may not fit, and or not fit correctly. I guess this is $160 waste that will only work with some of my dumbbells.

Ok
3 month Update: I attached my dumbbells ONCE (used it gently a couple times a week) and didn’t remove the weights until now and the foam is disintegrating on one side. Company was too cheap to use something like rubber. This is basically the only option in the category and it functions but the material is low quality for the price, this could easily break and become unusable. I will be contacting the company. Annoying.I haven’t used it yet but can confirm it fits bowflex adjustable weights. I do not like that the end mechanisms are constructed using plastic. They better sell replacement rings because that will be the first part to break. The foam cushioning in contact with the weight handle is cheap coated foam (like a child’s foam ball). Come on that part should have at least been rubber and once it begins to disintegrate the weight will rattle. For the price the entire construction should have been metal (even low grade aluminum on the ends whatever). But considering this seems to be the the only product of its kind on the market I’m glad I own it and am excited to use (very carefully).

Wow, well made and designed
You know when a product strikes you as well thought out and designed. This is one of those……collar and sleeve made of plastic, but if you treat it properly, you should really have no issue….unless you drop your weights, or throw them around. Very easy to fit on my rubber coated dumbells, very secure ……completes my workout needs without having to buy a whole set of kettlebells. Well done!!

Nice tool to add for home workout equipment
This works great with Bowflex dial weights I have. I have Power Blocks weights too, but this won’t work with those, as you can fit the claspe around the handles. Outside of that, this gives you the flexibility to turn a set of dumbbells into barbells, and add variety to your workouts without adding a lot of additional weights/equipment

Works on Nonzero Gravity Power Dyne Adjustable Dumbbells
Works well on Nonzero Gravity Power Dyne Adjustable Dumbbells (also bought on Amazon). Fits just right over the handles. Nice and snug. Keep in mind, since the ends are dumbbells and not normal weights (where the weight would be centered on the bar) any movement or rotation of the bar feels different/strange compared to a normal barbell. This is because these being dumbbells on the ends, the weight extends beyond the center of the bar unequally (as opposed to a regular barbell where the weight is over the bar evenly around the bar because its in a circle). So any natural rotation of the bar creates momentum that you feel in your hands. Didn’t expect that, but makes sense and should be expected. It’ll be something to get use to. You’ll understand what I mean when you start using them. Otherwise, seems to be the next best thing to having an actual ez-bar and now I have more uses for my dumbbells and more exercises to work with.

Fantastic! Fits with Bowflex 552 adjustable dumbbells
I recently purchased the Bowflex 552 adjustable dumbbell set and this barbell converter for working out at home. This converter works perfectly with the Bowflex dumbbells. I removed one of the soft, rubbery pieces on the interior of the clasps where the dumbbell handle fits. By removing this one piece they fit perfectly. The dumbbells do not slide around in the clasps at all. I am new to weightlifting and this was an excellent way for me to get started. I am thrilled with this piece of equipment! Highly recommend!!!!!!

The product is well engineered and performs as described IF you pay attention to the dumbbell specifications and/or brands noted by the manufacturer. As an example, Amazon neoprene dumbbells will not fit. I liked the bar much better than the typical metal bar.

It’s a great addition to a home gym
I really like this piece of equipment for my home gym, since I primarily have dumbbells. The only quirk I have is that it should be longer, closer to the length of a barbell. I find it too short for back squats. Other than that, it’s great.

Surprisingly sturdy!
Using with the Bowflex adjustable dumbbells. Easy to attach, surprisingly sturdy. Used for deadlifting as well as standing shoulder press. Dumbbells stay in place even with the rotation of the bar. Have only used it briefly but am very excited to add it to our home gym equipment. The hand grips are firm and easy to hold, not too squishy.

Almost perfect
This is a brilliant piece of equipment however there’s one specific thing that stands out that could be better. The grips for the dumbbells are nice and hold them tight (they do only work with cap dumbbells as I’ve tried others and it will not fit. My main observation is that the collars that screw on the grips for the dumbbells are plastic and not very thick plastic at that. They are a major weak point in the design. If the collars were metal instead this would be a perfect design but instead they’re rather thin plastic and for the price of this it’s going to be a point of failure eventually in an otherwise stellar piece of equipment. Here’s hoping they sell replacement collars.

Best kettlebell adapter in my opinion
I really like how you can tilt them 90 degrees to have the dumbbells in a parallel or perpendicular position to the handle. Makes for a lot more versatility. The handles are pretty large, which I like as it gives a lot of gripping room. I’m actually using them on MX-55 adjustable dumbbells, so now with a set of handles I have two sets of kettlebells from 10-55 lbs. For less than $80, how can you beat that? Have used only a few times, but so far impressed with the durability. The packaging was professional as well, doesn’t affect the functionality but nice touch.

Weights Shift While Using
I was really hoping this bar would work for me. I’m 4’11”, 101 pounds and 73 years old. I am on a weight program for strength for my bones and overall health. I need to lift 80-85% of my one lift rep, which is what I’m working up to. I wanted a 4′ bar but they are hard to find and really expensive when you do. When I found this, it looked like just what I needed. However, when I received it and put the dumbbells on the end, I found, as one other reviewer stated, the dumbbells shift some each way. And when you’re lifting heavy weights, (for my size and being 73), I can’t afford to lose my balance when the dumbbell shifts in the middle of a lift. I tried putting a rubber mat around the dumbbell hoping it would tighten the lock but it still did not work. The dumbbells kept shifting and wanting to turn sideways instead of staying straight. Also, I realized that when I was ready to move my weights up, I didn’t have many options. I had to put the same amount of weight on each end and that was going to limit how much weight I could change. With a straight bar, I could just put 1 pound each on end if I wanted. With a dumbbell, I would have to put 2 1 pound weights on each end of the dumbbell, on both dumbbells, to keep the weight in balance. So while this may work for people who can control the shifts in weight and the weight change limits, it is not something I can handle safely.

Pretty decent solution
Grabbed this on sale via Amazon’s Prime Day deal. Seemed like a better solution than buying a longer bar and using olympic weights (at least here I can use the dumbbells I already have). It’s a solution and will work – but it’s not a full replacement if your intention is to do full barbell workouts. I however, only plan to do limited barbell workouts with dumbbells being used primarily. As such, it is a solution that saves space, money, and suffices. Others mentioned the dumbbells slide and move within the clasps, but I do not find that to be the case. I am using amazon basics dumbbells and they are not flat (they are lifted and rounded in the middle). The jaylfex has foam inside the clips and along with the rounding it stops any movement. The problem with the solution is that the dumbbells are awkward. This means the weight is sort of dispersed incorrectly and when you pick up the bar it flops so the dumbbell is north and south (rather than how most of us hold them east and west). As I say, depending on the exercises you do, this may not prove to be an issue – but it should be noted that the bar prefers to be in a certain position. If I bought at full price I’d probably return, but at the Prime Day price I paid, I’ll just keep it and use for shoulder shrugs and hip raises.

Great for making your dumbbells into a more versatile barbell, but with limitations…
I have the adjustable Core Fitness Dumbbells that got from 5-50 lbs, and a flat adjustable bench I use for various exercises. This seemed like a great way to be able to do some straight bar bench presses, shrugs/deadlifts/squats, etc., even tho I’m limited to light weight (100 lbs max, as the bar weighs very little) So for deadlifts, shrugs, or bicep curls/triceps extensions, this does the job pretty well. The down side to getting the bar to your chest in order to do bench press, is that with out a rack, you basically have to snatch/clean the bar as you lay back on the bench to get it on top of your chest. It can be done by resting it across your thighs as you sit, if you’re going all the way flat, you pop your legs up and can rotate into position. Doing incline chest press gives you much less room to move, and this can be difficult to do w/ 100 lbs. I weigh about 160 lbs myself, so bigger people might not struggle as much. Without a squat rack to get under the bar, there’s really no safe way to get this bar across your back/shoulders for squats, unless you’re going w/ light weight.Point being, know the limits for what you want to do. Also the plastic collars are disappointing, as they seem cheap/flimsy compared to the construction of the bar and dumbbell holders, (holders are also plastic, but thick and sturdy). The red screw-down collars are working well so far, so maybe they’ll last as long as you don’t abuse them. For $130, this is a good home gym addition if you want some variety in your equipment.

Perfect addition for my home workouts
I can’t afford a gym membership, nor do I have the time, but this has made my workouts so much better! I was not seeing any progress with glutes/hip thrusts due to not being able to balance dumb bells on my hips. This was the perfect addition and now I have more than doubled my lifting weight and am seeing progress! I would highly recommend. Make sure you pay attention to the side dumb bells you can use with this. Otherwise, save yourself a trip to the gym and use this instead.

I found this difficult to adjust and put the weights on and off. My neoprene weights did not work (which they did say they wouldn’t work) so only thing I could use was my bowl flex. But with those and let’s say I did three sets. I wanted to increase my weight each set. So I had to unscrew both side and put the weights on. It took a while and it not easy for me to do. I ended up returning it.

Really difficult to use
– Fits Powerblock if you remove the soft grippy inner foam- However, if you remove the grippy foam, then the handle will spin freely around the dumbbell handle which may matter for some types of movements- Very frustrating to attach. It’s made of three separate pieces that you more or less have to juggle and perfectly align while attaching to the dumbbell. Easy to mis-align or drop components.

Overpriced but ok
The product is extremely overpriced for what you’re getting. I paid 150 for the Hyperbell and kettle bell bundle. Probably worth half that based on materials. I have used it once so far and seems to work fine. Attaching them to your weights is not a very fast process so if you’re switching between these and regular dumbbells during your workouts it will slow you down. Included in the box was a card advertising an extended 2 year warranty AND a free workout program. I filled out my information twice and didn’t receive confirmation of warranty nor the workout program. It’s probably just a ploy to sell your info considering my inbox is filled with spam today. Annoying and sketchy.

Works good
Works with bow flex dumbells but it’s awkward to do some exercises because of the dumbbells.
